Behind the Counter is a short film about a young man fleeing his broken home for a better life. However, before he can leave his small town, he decides to rob the local convenience store for quick cash.

Director’s Statement:
“Cinema was not always in my blood. It was not until high school that I realized I wanted to make films for a living. Films were always just there to me, much like books or magazines. However, when I first watched “Pulp Fiction”, things changed. That picture made me realize that cinema was an art. From there, I went on to watch and study hundreds of films throughout the rest of high school. I had a new respect for the industry, and more importantly, a new passion in my life. I began to write scripts, watch endless movies, and work my way up to become a film director.
Now with my cinageek status, I am ready to direct my biggest project outside of school curriculum so far. 6 years ago, I wrote my first script. That script is now being made into this movie, Behind the Counter. Having years to polish and perfect the story, I am now ready to dive into production with a crystal clear vision in mind. I am super excited to explore some western influenced visual styles and to make a movie I have had in mind for years.”
